The National Marine Park of Zakynthos is also located in Laganas which aims to protect the nesting beaches of the loggerhead sea turtle Caretta Caretta, the monk seal Monachus Monachus habitat and population, the avifauna, terrestrial and coastal flora and fauna, the marine ecosystem and fish stocks.

While swimming, do not be surprised if a Caretta Caretta turtle swims very close to you (we encourage you not to get any closer or try touching the turtles).

You can join one of the scuba diving classes go parasailing, hand-gliding, water- skiing, canoeing, jet skiing or join sightseeing tours. You may as well take daily trips to the famous Shipwreck for a swim or depart from Zakynthos town for some Island hopping to Kefalonia which is nearby.

While in Zakynthos you may wish to dedicate some of your time visiting the marvelous attractions of the Island. Do not miss to take a tour in Zakynthos town and the Bochali traditional district where you can find the well-preserved Venetian Castle. Other impressive attractions arethe Blue Caves, the sunset at Keri Villas, the Marathonisi Island (Turtle Island) and the Kampi village with the marvelous view.

Bus Stop: 50 meters

The central bus station is located in Zakynthos Town and there is a bus service available for almost every destination in Zakynthos. There are daily buses going to the mainland, to the cities of Patras, Athens and Thessaloniki. You can also take the free bus to St. Nicholas beach from Laganas bus stop and there you can enjoy doing water sports.

Zakynthos town: 6 km

Zakynthos town offers many interesting things to the visitor such us the famous church of St. Dionysios, numerous museums, the Solomos and Saint Mark squares. At Zakynthos town you can walk among the little Venetian streets with a selection of shops, traditional taverns, luxury restaurants and cafes available.

Zakynthos Airport: 4 km

Zakynthos International Airport “Dionysios Solomos“( ZTH ) is a few minutes’ drive from the hotel and there are always plenty of taxis available for your transfer. At Tzante Hotel we are co-operating with one of the largest transfer companies on the island and we can arrange your transfer to /from the hotel.

Zakynthos Port: 6 km

Zakynthos is about 90 minutes by ferry from Killini Port. Another one-hour drive from Killini Port is the new Port of Patras which is connected with the Italian Ports of Ancona, Bari, Brindisi and Venice. Patra is the third largest city of Greece and the capital of the Prefecture of Achaia. Ancient Olympia where the ancient Olympic Games were held and one of the major archeological sites in Greece is also one-hour drive from Killini Port. Athens the capital city of Greece and home to the Acropolis and the Parthenon and is just 4 hours’ drive via a brand-new highway.
